For
my first book in Best Sellers I have chosen, The Hate List, by Jennifer Brown. Initially I chose this
book because I saw my friend reading it. Also the cover is a little odd, which
drew my attention to it even more. As I was researching this book I heard a
variety of comments. Liddy from Goodreads said, “You know when you hear someone say, 'One day, you will find a
book that will change the way you think about life.' Yeah? Well for me, that
book was Hate List.” So this comment really make we want to read the book. If
it could change my view of life, well, it must be pretty phenomenal. Also, the
rating is very close to 5 stars. Jennifer Brown is obviously a really talented
author, so I thought I would give this book a try. In addition, realistic
fiction is my favorite genre, so this book seems like a great choice for me. The
summary online is really interesting too. From what I understand, the main
character’s boyfriend came in one day with a gun. He proceeded to shoot some classmates,
his girlfriend and himself. The story continues with his girlfriend having to
overcome all the accusations made by everyone around her.

Why I read
Why I read
I like to read because
it allows me to experience new worlds and go on new adventures that I otherwise
wouldn’t be able to experience. You can vividly imagine the setting and bond
with the characters. Experiencing someone else’s life for a little bit is only
something you can do if you read. Sometimes I read because I really want to
know what happens next. Like for example a mystery book, I read those the
fastest because of all the suspense. You just want to know what happens next.
Also, reading about other people can make you feel grateful about what you
have, or what you don’t have. I read because it’s great medicine for boredom.
When I read books I don’t feel bored and I can learn something while I’m at it
too. The great part about reading is that you can use your imagination. The way
you might have imagined a character could be totally different than the next person.
The people and settings really come to life in your mind. Reading is great because you can take a break
from your hectic life and sit down with a book. It’s a great way to spend your
time.
